About Neurosphere
We are Guillaume and Lisa, Montreal parents. Neurosphere came out of our own first years: the long wait, the fragmented services, the expensive promises, and the need for a place where our child could play and grow at their own pace and where we could feel understood.
The site has two halves. The library is the calm, honest, Quebec-specific reference we wish had existed the night we first searched “toddler not pointing”. The community is small meetups where the children play with facilitators and the parents talk.
What we believe
- The parent is the mechanism. Most of what helps a young autistic child runs through a regulated, informed parent.
- Specific beats general. CLSC, RAMQ, Agir tôt, CPE, plan d'intervention, Retraite Québec: the Quebec version, first.
- Honesty is the brand. Evidence levels on every page, contested topics shown from both sides, corrections in public.
- Calm is a design decision. No red, no countdowns, no pop-ups, no photos of children.
- Autistic adults belong in the loop. We are recruiting an autistic adult reviewer for the identity and intervention pages; until one has reviewed a page, it says so on that page.
Who does the work
Guillaume Racine handles development and operations. Lisa handles family experience and welcome at meetups. A special education coordinator and two facilitators with backgrounds in special education, play therapy and educational psychology run the children's side of meetups. Volunteer clinicians have supported us. We name people publicly only with their consent.
What we are not
Not a clinic, not a therapy provider, not a substitute for your pediatrician, and not affiliated with any venue or organization named on the site. We do not diagnose. We do not collect health information about children. The email list requires explicit consent and unsubscribes in one click.
Money
Neurosphere is independent and non-profit-minded. There are no ads, no sponsored pages, no affiliate links. If that ever changes, it will say so on this page first.
How to help
- Tell one parent who needs it.
- Send a correction: contact. Corrections are logged publicly on the methodology page.
- Host a calm meetup at your museum, library, community centre or clinic.
- If you are an autistic adult or a clinician willing to review pages, write to us.
